I RIIZE tornano sulla scena con Bag Bad Back, un assaggio hip-hop dal loro imminente primo album completo, Odyssey, fuori il prossimo 19 maggio. Il pezzo pulsa con bassi pesanti e ritmi di batteria decisi, mentre il gruppo esplora temi di ambizione e crescita , citando addirittura una frase, “RIIZE will continue to rise“, pronunciata da Anton nel corso del discorso di premiazione dei “Next Leader Award” ai The Fact Music Awards (TMA) del 2023.
Tuttavia, nonostante versi promettenti e un bridge energico , il brano inciampa su un ritornello (“Bag Bag Bag…“) decisamente troppo ripetitivo e monocorde , un passo falso che, tra le altre cose, riporta pericolosamente vicino al suono “neo” dei loro compagni di etichetta NCT.
Sebbene i RIIZE abbiano dimostrato versatilità in passato, Bag Bad Back solleva qualche interrogativo sulla loro capacità di forgiare un’identità sonora veramente unica, lasciando i fan sperare che il full album offra la diversità melodica che finora ha contraddistinto i loro momenti migliori.
