Merry-Go-Round, ottava traccia dell’album ARIRANG dei BTS, è una ballad malinconica, profondamente introspettiva e quasi ipnotica.
Sebbene il titolo richiami l’immagine d’infanzia di una giostra colorata, il brano trasforma questa metafora in una prigione dorata fatta di routine, aspettative e una fama che non si ferma mai.
La giostra gira, sempre uguale, sempre nello stesso punto. Proprio come certi momenti della vita in cui si va avanti per inerzia, anche quando dentro ci si sente stanchi, confusi, svuotati.
Il brano si muove tra vulnerabilità e consapevolezza. Da una parte c’è il desiderio di fermarsi, di allontanarsi dal dolore, di spezzare quel ritmo continuo. Dall’altra, resta una sensazione più sottile. Quella di non riuscire davvero a lasciar andare, come se una parte di sé fosse ancorata a tutto questo.
Crescere non porta sempre risposte. Le domande restano. I pensieri si accumulano, si rincorrono, mentre intorno tutti sembrano sorridere, fingendo che vada bene così.
In sottofondo si avverte il peso di una vita vissuta sotto pressione costante. Sempre in movimento. Sempre esposta.
È un brano che parla di esaurimento emotivo e di identità.
In perfetta sintonia con i temi dell’album, la traccia risulta più intima, più vulnerabile.
I Bangtan si mostrano senza filtri, con una sensibilità fragile ma lucida, mettendo a fuoco quel senso di ripetizione che accompagna la loro vita da anni.
Una corsa iniziata troppo presto. Quando erano ancora adolescenti, sotto i riflettori. E che, da allora, non si è mai fermata.
