RED (from Arena Breakout: Infinite) – eaJ: Lyrics and Italian Translation

Today, June 27, 2025, is a very important date for eaJ. Just a few hours ago, his EP 1 was released, the first since signing with Position Music last January. RED, the main track, finds its home in this project as the most visceral and aggressive song. The EP is a journey through the artist’s emotional complexities: it moves from the almost obsessive cyclical nature of merry go round, to the desperate vulnerability of ruin my life, up to the need for respite and reflection in the splendid pause. In this narrative, RED is the inevitable explosion, the moment in which the tension accumulated in the other tracks detonates with unprecedented sonic power.

EP 1 can be considered a programmatic manifesto. If the past years have been a search, one release at a time, to find his own voice, this project is the point of arrival and a new beginning. The explosive nature of RED originates from a specific commission: the track was expressly written by eaJ as an anthem for the tactical shooter Arena Breakout: Infinity. The artist channeled the adrenaline of the virtual battlefield to forge a tailor-made piece, where his identity as a first-class guitarist dictates the line with powerful and aggressive riffs. Added to this was the collaboration with Norwegian producer Jorgen Odegard (known for his work on Justin Bieber’s Holy), who handled its explosive production. The genius lies in the fact that this track, despite being born from an explicit request, fits perfectly into the narrative fabric of EP 1. This demonstrates eaJ’s ability to merge an external project with his most intimate artistic vision.

The lyrics are a direct confrontation, a challenge thrown at an opponent. It opens with explicit warnings (Careful what you wish for) and threats, then moves on to provocation, based on the principle that you reap what you sow. The heart of the song, however, reveals how this external anger is a reflection of an internal battle: the red that the protagonist sees with his eyes closed is the color of the demons in his head that torment him to the point of wanting him dead. The narrative culminates in the bridge, where the opponent, after so much talk, is challenged to prove his words with a blunt: “let’s see if you can walk.”

Although written for a video game, these lyrics can be considered autobiographical, representative of present eaJ’s identity. The challenge thrown at an invisible enemy resonates with the pressure and criticism he has faced since embarking on a solo career, leaving an established group to start over. The real core, however, is the internal struggle. The demons in his head that want him dead are a direct and brutal echo of his battles with mental health, a theme he has always treated with disarming honesty.

Finally, the provocation Let’s see if you can walk can be interpreted as a perfect summary of his new solo career: an answer to all those who have doubted. eaJ has accepted the challenge and, with EP 1, is proving that he can act and build his own path, with his own rules.
